Ancestral Homes: 75 Years in Newark

Roots in Newark, New Jersey run deep for the Carrolton, Schuler, Steinmetz and Wilson families, with various family groups living in the central areas of the city from at least 1855 through the 1930s before dispersing to more suburban areas. In July 2006 Joseph W. Mann Jr. took a photographic "tour" of the area to see how it had changed and what still remained. This interactive feature explores past and present views of the city and the ancestors who lived there.
