Tombstone Project

As strange as it sounds, I've spent a fair amount of time in cemeteries (by choice). Walking several Hudson and Essex County, NJ cemeteries and perusing the tombstones of ancestors (or sometimes lack thereof), I've found a great deal of genealogical data. Along the way I made sure to photograph each grave location for posterity. It was a bit strange to realize that some of them probably had not been visited in 100 years and at the same time thinking it was nice to have a "last address" for the people you've been researching. This photo archive of these visits to date includes the surnames Burns, Carrolton/Carlton, Kiesewetter, Long, Mann, McDonough, Mulholland, Wadle, Wenz, Wilson, Steinmetz, Schuler and Morawski.
